SpeechyTalk is designed for children ages 1–6 and is used under direct parental supervision. We take children's privacy seriously and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable international children's privacy laws.

What data we collect
SpeechyTalk collects only what is necessary to operate the app. Data is entered by parents or guardians, not children.
- Child profile names and emoji avatars created by parents
- Photos selected from your device's photo library (used as flashcard images)
- Audio recordings made within the app (used as flashcard audio)
- App usage activity — flashcard sessions and games played — stored locally on your device and in your personal account
- Account email address if you sign in via our authentication provider
- Purchase and subscription status (no payment details — processed by Apple or Google)
- Crash reports and error logs with no personally identifiable information
- Anonymized usage analytics — aggregate feature usage only, no personal identifiers
What we do not collect
- We do not collect personal information directly from children
- We do not serve advertising of any kind
- We do not track users across other apps or websites
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing
- We do not use facial recognition or biometric data
- We do not collect location data
How we use your data
- To display flashcards, story pages, and games personalized to your child's learning content
- To save progress and activity history for parents to review
- To process and verify premium subscriptions
- To diagnose app crashes and improve stability
- To understand which features are used most so we can improve the app
Where data is stored
Photos, audio recordings, and flashcard content are stored on your device and in your private account database. Each user's data is isolated — we cannot access other users' content. Audio and image files are stored in secure cloud storage with access restricted to your account only.
Third-party services
SpeechyTalk uses the following third-party services, each bound by their own privacy policies:
- Supabase — database and file storage
- RevenueCat — subscription management
- Sentry — crash reporting
- PostHog — anonymized analytics
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing for subscriptions
COPPA compliance
SpeechyTalk is directed to children under 13 and is used under parental supervision. In accordance with COPPA:
- All account creation and data entry is performed by parents or guardians, not children
- We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children
- Parents may request deletion of all account data at any time by emailing us
- Session replay and behavioral tracking features are disabled
- No behaviorally targeted advertising is shown
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained as long as you have an active account. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing algie.mabone@speechytalk.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at algie.mabone@speechytalk.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
